« Un de mes voisins avait des boeufs bien aparagés dont un qu’il avait appelé Bufe à l’eau, et l’autre sape au vin… Souffle l’eau, goute le vin… Un vrai programme d’hédoniste qui pourrait être une devise pour ce festival qui bufe les puristes : les porteurs de vérité en tous genres, qui forcément sape au beau de la langue. La glottophobie parle de ça : de la haine ou la ziration des accents.
Cette année, comme tous les ans, le Festival est une invitation à celles et ceux qui n’y connaissent rien et pensent qu’ils ne vont pas comprendre : joie d’imaginer de nouvelles manières d’utiliser des langues qui ne sont plus des langues de paysans. Bufe de tout ce qui sépare, de tout ce qui empêche juste de se mettre à apprendre.
On accepte que n’importe qui puisse parler un mauvais anglais, la langue dominante. Mais pour les langues des territoires, les détenteurs de ces langues empêchent souvent leur apprentissage pour cause d’impureté. Ils se voient parfois comme propriétaires et sont en fait hors de la réalité, comme des émigrés d’eux-mêmes qui s’accrochent à un doudou. Mais ils s’accrochent tellement qu’ils vont l’étouffer en le maintenant dans un formol historique. Cette année, nous invitons des gens qui n’ont jamais parlé le patois à venir s’essayer. C’est de cela que nous allons parler, que vous allez vous essayer, que vous pourrez écouter, avec les amis occitans et plus encore. Il faut juste rappeler qu’en Vendée on a sans doute parlé le limousin (un occitan du nord) jusqu’au XII siècle, au temps du premier troubadour. » – Yannick Jaulin & La Balise
